Sometimes you don’t know whether you would be wasting your time and money seeing a lawyer, so you end up doing nothing. You shouldn’t have to worry about that, so our lawyers will have a first meeting with you for up to 20 minutes to discuss your problem. If you decide that you don’t want or need any assistance from us, then there is no charge and there is no obligation.
If you’re not sure whether you have a case, or whether you need a lawyer, come speak to us. We’ll give you an indication as to whether you have an arguable case and what your legal options are. And we’ll explain how much pursuing your case might cost, and whether we can offer you our legal services on a fixed fee or no win, no fee basis.
To arrange a free meeting, please contact us.
When you meet with us we will ask you some questions about your legal problem, so that we can form a preliminary view about it.
It’s helpful if you gather up any relevant information, including any names, dates, places, and documents, before your first meeting and bring that information with you.
At the meeting, we can indicate what some of your options might be and discuss how much your matter might cost you if you choose to retain us. We do not usually give specific legal advice at this stage, though some cases are so straightforward that we can give a definitive answer immediately.
If you decide that you want to take the matter further, we will provide you with a copy of our terms of engagement. These terms set out the work that we will do for you and the basis on which we will charge our fees, including whether they will be charged on a fixed fee, an hourly rate, on a court scale, or on a no win, no fee basis.
We usually provide you with our terms of engagement by posting them to you. If you decide to retain us as your lawyers, you have to sign and return these terms of engagement to us. However, there is no obligation on you to retain us. If you choose not to, simply do not sign the terms of engagement.
If you want to arrange a no obligation meeting with one of our lawyers, or if you have any questions, please contact us here.
